What Wines Where

The premium subscriptions provide access to all of Wineminder's capabilities as summarized above on this website. 

The basic subscription is limited to adding your Wines and Storage Locations with only the ability to identify one location for each wine variety and vintage (e.g. no ability to assign bottles to bins across all storage containers at all locations and other premium subscription features).

The short answer is there is no limit.  For ease of use, the app limits the ability to configure a storage container to a maximum of 12 rows by 12 columns.  However, there is no limit on the number of storage containers you can configure.  

So, for example, if you have a 400 bottle walkup chiller, you could simply choose to subdivide it into four storage containers of 100 bottles (or whatever works best for you).  Subdividing a large wine storage system in this way allows for a more manageable approach for updating and auditing the bottles in the bins with the application's screen for viewing Wines at Locations.

That answer is somewhat up to your imagination as you define its attributes (e.g. Name, Physical Location and etc.).  Please note that the Name of each Location should be unique.  This will avoid confusion when it comes time to select a Location when assigning Wine to it.

So a storage location could be anything from as simple as the box that the wine was delivered in, to an abstract structure that acts as an accent piece in a wine cellar, to a commercial wine storage system.  

In its simplest terms when using a Premium subscription, a Location is  a uniquely named storage container with a bin structure you determined and configured.  Check out the video on this website that shows how simple the WineminderApp makes the adding of a Location along with the configuration of the bins in a storage container.

While you can add Wines and Locations in any order, keep in mind that assignment of Wines to a Location(s) requires the Location to already be added.  

Also note, with the premium version, Wines can only be assigned to a Location after the Wine is 1st saved via "Add Wine Screen".  

A best practice to consider, especially if you have a large wine storage system(s), is to determine your Location/Storage Container approach.  Then begin by adding your first Location/Storage Container to the app.  Next, add all the Wines to be held in that storage container's bins (i.e. repeated use of the Add Wine Screen).  After all the Wines are added, begin TAPPING the PENCIL icon next to each of those wines and "Assigning" the bottles to that Location's respective bins.  Repeat the process with your next Location/Storage Container until they are all loaded with their respective Wines.
